Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Thirty-eight views, ground plans and plates of architectural decoration and detail, from Le Antichita di Pompei by Luigi Rossini was sold in the Travel and Natural History auction at Christies in London in September 2005. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,680.00 (€ 2,465.52) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Luigi Rossini - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View of Saint Peter and the Apostolic Palace at the Vatican, which sold at auction in January 2017 for USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,527.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Thirty-eight views, ground plans and plates of architectural decoration and detail, from Le Antichita di Pompei von Luigi Rossini wurde im September 2005 in der Auktion Travel and Natural History bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.680,00 (€ 2.465,52) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Luigi Rossini mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit View of Saint Peter and the Apostolic Palace at the Vatican beobachtet, die im Januar 2017 für USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.527,33) versteigert wurde.
