Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Antichita Romane: Veduta del Campidoglio Romano; Veduta di fianco del Campidoglio di Roma; Veduta Generale del Tempio di Venere; Veduta della Gran Mole Adriana, e Ponte Elio; Avanzo del Tempio di Medica, da altri un Sepolcro by Luigi Rossini was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2001. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,115.00 (€ 3,545.85) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Luigi Rossini - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View of Saint Peter and the Apostolic Palace at the Vatican, which sold at auction in January 2017 for USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,527.33).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.115,00 (€ 3.545,85) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Luigi Rossini mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit View of Saint Peter and the Apostolic Palace at the Vatican beobachtet, die im Januar 2017 für USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.527,33) versteigert wurde.
