The price achieved of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 4,340.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Luigi Galea - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mediterranean fishing craft off the Maltese coast, which sold at auction in May 2000 for GBP 7,285.00 (€ 11,689.74).
