This artwork by Ludwig Guttenbrunn achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Milan in December 2009. In the Old Master Paintings, 19th C Paintings, Furniture and Works of Art auction, the work Ritratto Di Clemente Damiano, Conte Di Priocca sold for EUR 15,625.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ludwig Guttenbrunn; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Rinaldo And Armida, Said To Be Henry Greswold-Lewis And Madame St. Clair sold at auction in April 2010 with the realized price of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 25,893.10).
