Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2021 Phillips in an online auction held the auction Wired: Online Auction, which included the work Serving the People (Albino Snake) LS-491 by Lucien Smith. It changed hands for a price of GBP 3,528.00 (€ 4,068.88) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucien Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hobbes, The Rain Man, and My Friend Barney / Under the Sycamore Tree in November 2013 with an auction result of USD 389,000.00 (€ 285,903.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2021 führte Phillips in einer Online-Auktion die Auktion Wired: Online Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Serving the People (Albino Snake) LS-491 von Lucien Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 3.528,00 (€ 4.068,88) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 4.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lucien Smith erzielen.
