This artwork by Lucien Pissarro achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2018. In the Modern & Post-War British Art auction, the work Apples On Table-Cloth Against A Lace-Curtained Window sold for GBP 250,000.00 (€ 281,992.40) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 120,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Lucien Pissarro; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Gouvernes, près Lagny sold at auction in October this year with the realized price of EUR 352,800.00.

Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Lucien Pissarro; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Gouvernes, près Lagny im Oktober diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 352.800,00.
