In December 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Prints including Property from the Collection of the Late Walter L. Strauss, which included the work The Musicians (New Hollstein 155) by Lucas van Leyden. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 5,040.00 (€ 5,630.13), 68% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Lucas van Leyden have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Virgin and Child with two Angels in January 2019 with an auction result of USD 52,500.00 (€ 45,835.52).

Im Dezember 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master Prints including Property from the Collection of the Late Walter L. Strauss durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Musicians (New Hollstein 155) von Lucas van Leyden zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 5.040,00 (€ 5.630,13) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lucas van Leyden auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Virgin and Child with two Angels im Januar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 45.835,52).
