Sold at the upper estimate price
In July 2020 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Prints, which included the work A Man with a Torch and a Woman followed by a Fool by Lucas van Leyden. The auction ended at the price of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,673.14), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucas van Leyden achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Virgin and Child with two Angels in January 2019 with an auction result of USD 52,500.00 (€ 45,835.52).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2020 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Man with a Torch and a Woman followed by a Fool von Lucas van Leyden zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.673,14) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lucas van Leyden erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Virgin and Child with two Angels im Januar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 45.835,52).
