Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2007 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Old Master and 19th Century Drawings and Paintings, which included the work Portrait De Femme Regardant Vers Le Haut by Louis Welden Hawkins. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 4,320.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis Welden Hawkins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Préludes in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 66,000.00 (€ 97,952.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2007 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Drawings and Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait De Femme Regardant Vers Le Haut von Louis Welden Hawkins zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 4.320,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis Welden Hawkins erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les Préludes im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 66.000,00 (€ 97.952,26).
