Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art including Orientalist Pictures, which included the work The sweet scent by Louis Picard. The price achieved of GBP 4,700.00 (€ 6,754.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Louis Picard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ira Aldridge im Atelier Taras Schewtschenkos, which sold at auction in June 2009 for EUR 17,080.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art including Orientalist Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit The sweet scent von Louis Picard zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.700,00 (€ 6.754,16) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Louis Picard mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ira Aldridge im Atelier Taras Schewtschenkos beobachtet, die im Juni 2009 für EUR 17.080,00 versteigert wurde.
