Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Louis-Paul Jonas achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in February 2021. In the Western Art auction, the work Standing Grizzly Bear sold for USD 2,295.00 (€ 1,897.79) - well above the upper estimate of USD 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Louis-Paul Jonas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hippopotamus, which sold at auction in February 2021 for USD 5,100.00 (€ 4,217.32).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Louis-Paul Jonas erzielte im Februar 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Western Art wurde die Arbeit Standing Grizzly Bear für USD 2.295,00 (€ 1.897,79) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 800,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Louis-Paul Jonas mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hippopotamus beobachtet, die im Februar 2021 für USD 5.100,00 (€ 4.217,32) versteigert wurde.
