This price was achieved in the auction Old Master & 19th Century Drawings including Works on Paper at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate ran However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Louis Nicolas de Lespinasse - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mecca, which sold at auction in July 2008 for GBP 169,250.00 (€ 215,034.03).
