Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work View from the fringes of a forest by Louis Gurlitt was auctioned at Bruun Rasmussen in April this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of DKK 10,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for DKK 7,000.00 (€ 939.04). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis Gurlitt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ansicht des Guadagna-Tals bei Palermo. in June 2015 with an auction result of EUR 35,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit View from the fringes of a forest von Louis Gurlitt im April diesen Jahres bei Bruun Rasmussen versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von DKK 10.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für DKK 7.000,00 (€ 939,04) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis Gurlitt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ansicht des Guadagna-Tals bei Palermo. im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 35.000,00.
