Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work Saint Francis preaching to the poor by Louis Gallait for USD 660.00 (€ 553.46). This price was achieved in the auction The House Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis Gallait achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Junge Mutter mit ihrem Kind in May 2019 with an auction result of EUR 24,800.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar 2006 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Saint Francis preaching to the poor von Louis Gallait für USD 660,00 (€ 553,46) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The House Sale bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis Gallait erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Junge Mutter mit ihrem Kind im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 24.800,00.
