Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Nude on cliff with anchor by Louis-Ernest Barrias was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in December 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of SEK 20,000.00 – 25,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for SEK 19,000.00 (€ 2,145.58). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis-Ernest Barrias achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La jeune fille de Bou-Saada in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 121,500.00 (€ 130,253.00).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Nude on cliff with anchor von Louis-Ernest Barrias im Dezember 2013 bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von SEK 20.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für SEK 19.000,00 (€ 2.145,58) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis-Ernest Barrias erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La jeune fille de Bou-Saada im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 121.500,00 (€ 130.253,00).
