In May 2000 Christies in New York held the auction Nineteenth Century European Art, which included the work Le Miroir by Louis-Emile Pinel de Grandchamp. The »bidding war« ended at USD 52,875.00 (€ 56,684.18), 32% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Louis-Emile Pinel de Grandchamp - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work French The Nusretiye Mosque, which sold at auction in April 2014 for GBP 152,500.00 (€ 185,627.79).
