A top price for Louis Édouard Rioult - as previously expected
The work Chactas au tombeau d'Atala, d'après le roman de Chateaubriand by Louis Édouard Rioult was auctioned at Christies in Paris in September 2017. The price achieved of EUR 87,500.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Chactas au tombeau d'Atala, d'après le roman de Chateaubriand is the most expensive artwork by Louis Édouard Rioult that we have observed at auctions so far.
