In April 2000 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Pictures, which included the work A man lighting a pipe at a casement with a bust, a statuette and books on a ledge by Louis de Moni. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 9,400.00 (€ 16,092.42), 18% above the upper estimate. Other works by Louis de Moni have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of EUR 30,250.00 in May 2008 for the work The Doctor'S Visit.
