Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2019 Christies in London held the auction Topographical Pictures including Selections from the Kelton Collection, which included the work A tattooed woman of the Radak Islands, wearing a crown; Californian Indian woman's dress; and King Kamehameha and atttendant, Sandwich Islands, Hawaii by Louis Choris. The price achieved of GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,089.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis Choris achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Unknown in September 2005 with an auction result of GBP 48,000.00 (€ 70,443.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion Topographical Pictures including Selections from the Kelton Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit A tattooed woman of the Radak Islands, wearing a crown; Californian Indian woman's dress; and King Kamehameha and atttendant, Sandwich Islands, Hawaii von Louis Choris zur Versteigerung kam.
