In July 2021 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours including a Fine Collection of Old Master Prints, which included the work Sunset in Egypt, with two Bedouins on camels by Louis-Amable Crapelet. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,104.48), 17% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Louis-Amable Crapelet - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work La Mosquée De Moumayed Sultan Un Carrefour Au Cairelouis-Amable Crapelet ; Moumayed Sultan Mosque And A Street In Cairo ; A Pair, One Signed And Dated Lower Right 1858 And The Other One Signed, Located And Dated Lower Right Kaire 1859, which sold at auction in November 2011 for EUR 13,750.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2021 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours including a Fine Collection of Old Master Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sunset in Egypt, with two Bedouins on camels von Louis-Amable Crapelet zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.104,48) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Louis-Amable Crapelet mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit La Mosquée De Moumayed Sultan Un Carrefour Au Cairelouis-Amable Crapelet ; Moumayed Sultan Mosque And A Street In Cairo ; A Pair, One Signed And Dated Lower Right 1858 And The Other One Signed, Located And Dated Lower Right Kaire 1859 beobachtet, die im November 2011 für EUR 13.750,00 versteigert wurde.
