It achieved a price of USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,687.85), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Louis Agassiz Fuertes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Five Depictions of Shore Birds and Ducks, which sold at auction in September last year for USD 16,575.00 (€ 16,942.66).

Die Arbeit Members of the Hawk Family von Louis Agassiz Fuertes kam im Dezember 2012 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 5.687,85) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 25%. Für andere Arbeiten von Louis Agassiz Fuertes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Five Depictions of Shore Birds and Ducks beobachtet, die im September letzten Jahres für USD 16.575,00 (€ 16.942,66) versteigert wurde.
