Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (The Portrait of Umayma Hussein Ibish) by Louay Kayyali was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2019. It changed hands for a price of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 55,096.59) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Louay Kayyali - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Cake (Kaak) Seller, which sold at auction in June 2020 for GBP 137,562.00 (€ 151,500.70).

Die Arbeit Untitled (The Portrait of Umayma Hussein Ibish) von Louay Kayyali kam im Oktober 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 47.500,00 (€ 55.096,59) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Louay Kayyali mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Cake (Kaak) Seller beobachtet, die im Juni 2020 für GBP 137.562,00 (€ 151.500,70) versteigert wurde.
