inscribed with contemporary accounts, 'spessi' and 'pressi', in florins, soldi and denari, beginning 'a di 22 di fevbraio ff 1 s 8 [corrected from 9] a di ...8... ma[rzo?] ... s 10 a di 24 di m[arzo?] ff 2 s 6 7 d a di 2 daprile ff 2 ... [etc.]' and with the later inscription 'Angelus Gaddi opus.' (on the reverse)

A top price for Lorenzo di Niccolò
In July 2011 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings - Evening Sale, which included the work The Madonna and Child Enthroned by Lorenzo di Niccolò. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 500,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 541,250.00 (€ 621,165.35). With this result, The Madonna and Child Enthroned is even the most expensive work of art by Lorenzo di Niccolò that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Juli 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings - Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Madonna and Child Enthroned von Lorenzo di Niccolò zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 500.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 541.250,00 (€ 621.165,35) einen neuen Besitzer.
