Castro was sold in the Old Master and British Pictures and Old Master Drawings auction at Christies in London in April 2007. It achieved a price of GBP 10,200.00 (€ 14,934.11), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 28%. Admittedly, works by Lorenzo A. Castro have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An English Fourth Rate arriving off Genoa, with another, larger English man-o'war already at anchor offshore in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 53,775.00 (€ 77,194.81).
