Calligraphy Couplet in Running Script
A pair of scrolls, ink on decorated paper, signed by the artist Shi'an Jushi, with three artist's seals Liu Yong zhi yin, Shi'an and Yuci duzuo kan quan, with a collector's seal Yang Longsheng zhencangon each panel, with the exterior of each scroll inscribed by Yang Longsheng (1915-2013) with a biography of Liu Yong dated renwu.

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphy Couplet in Running Script by Liu Yong was sold in the Chinese Works of Art and Paintings auction at Bonhams in March this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,200.00 (€ 9,381.90) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liu Yong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy in April this year with an auction result of HKD 672,000.00 (€ 686,243.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet in Running Script von Liu Yong wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Chinese Works of Art and Paintings bei Bonhams versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.200,00 (€ 9.381,90) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Liu Yong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 672.000,00 (€ 686.243,48).
