Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Liu Dan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2017. In the Contemporary Ink Art: Confluence auction, the work Poppy sold for HKD 1,875,000.00 (€ 206,365.90) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 750,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Liu Dan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Poppy, which sold at auction in April 2016 for HKD 6,920,000.00 (€ 779,641.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Liu Dan erzielte im Oktober 2017 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Ink Art: Confluence wurde die Arbeit Poppy für HKD 1.875.000,00 (€ 206.365,90) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 750.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Liu Dan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Poppy beobachtet, die im April 2016 für HKD 6.920.000,00 (€ 779.641,64) versteigert wurde.
