This artwork by Liu Dan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2018. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Poppies And Calligraphy In Regular Script sold for USD 200,000.00 (€ 172,087.42) - well above the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Liu Dan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Poppy in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 6,920,000.00 (€ 779,641.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Liu Dan erzielte im September 2018 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Poppies And Calligraphy In Regular Script für USD 200.000,00 (€ 172.087,42) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 70.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Liu Dan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Poppy im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.920.000,00 (€ 779.641,64).
