Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Calligraphy in Cursive Script by Lin Sanzhi was worth HKD 151,200.00 (€ 17,405.79) to a buyer in March last year. This price was achieved in the auction Dawn of Spring: Chinese Paintings Online at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lin Sanzhi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Poem In Caoshu, which sold at auction in April 2017 for HKD 525,000.00 (€ 61,968.79).
