Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Lim Tze Peng achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2021. In the 20th and 21st Century Art Morning Session auction, the work Shophouses By The River sold for HKD 875,000.00 (€ 92,494.26) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 300,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Lim Tze Peng; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Singapore River Scene sold at auction in December 2021 with the realized price of HKD 1,250,000.00 (€ 141,588.62).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Lim Tze Peng erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th and 21st Century Art Morning Session wurde die Arbeit Shophouses By The River für HKD 875.000,00 (€ 92.494,26) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 300.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Lim Tze Peng; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Singapore River Scene im Dezember 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 1.250.000,00 (€ 141.588,62).
