Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Still Life by Lillian Burk Meeser was auctioned at Bonhams in January this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,805.00 (€ 2,583.35). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lillian Burk Meeser - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Chinese Vase, which sold at auction in March 2008 for USD 11,250.00 (€ 7,118.00).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Still Life von Lillian Burk Meeser im Januar diesen Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.805,00 (€ 2.583,35) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Lillian Burk Meeser mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Chinese Vase beobachtet, die im März 2008 für USD 11.250,00 (€ 7.118,00) versteigert wurde.
