Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Irish Art, which included the work Gathering Kelp by Lilian Davidson. The price achieved of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,078.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lilian Davidson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Flax Pullers, which sold at auction in November 2018 for GBP 93,750.00 (€ 105,747.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gathering Kelp von Lilian Davidson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 28.078,21) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Lilian Davidson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Flax Pullers beobachtet, die im November 2018 für GBP 93.750,00 (€ 105.747,15) versteigert wurde.
