Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Delhi from a distance by Ezekiel Barton was sold in the Travel, Science and Natural History auction at Christies in London in September 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 812.50 (€ 939.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Ezekiel Barton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Brindavan near Mathura in September 2003 with an auction result of GBP 8,365.00 (€ 8,425.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Delhi from a distance von Ezekiel Barton wurde im September 2010 in der Auktion Travel, Science and Natural History bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 812,50 (€ 939,74) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ezekiel Barton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Brindavan near Mathura im September 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.365,00 (€ 8.425,84).
