Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work Peru. Three views in Peru and eleven studies of Peruvian and Pacific artefacts comprising: Lima; Lima _ River Remac.; Bodygone de Piné Peru or Chile?; Six studies of 'Articles exhumed from an Ancient Peruvian Burial place _ By Mr Hennah.' and five by Lieutenant F. Hennah for GBP 1,440 (€ 2,113). This price was achieved in the auction Travel and Natural History at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP Admittedly, works by Lieutenant F. Hennah have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Brazil and Portugal, 1825. Fourteen views comprising: Rio. Als die Arbeit Peru. Three views in Peru and eleven studies of Peruvian and Pacific artefacts comprising: Lima; Lima _ River Remac.; Bodygone de Piné Peru or Chile?; Six studies of 'Articles exhumed from an Ancient Peruvian Burial place _ By Mr Hennah.' and five von Lieutenant F. Hennah im September 2005 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.440,00 (€ 2.113,31) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lieutenant F.
