Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Workers on the Empire State Building by Lewis Wickes Hine was auctioned at Bonhams in April this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,300.00 (€ 13,858.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lewis Wickes Hine achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mechanic And Steam Pump, 1921 in April 2021 with an auction result of USD 275,000.00 (€ 228,595.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Workers on the Empire State Building von Lewis Wickes Hine kam im April diesen Jahres bei Bonhams zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.300,00 (€ 13.858,70) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lewis Wickes Hine erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mechanic And Steam Pump, 1921 im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 275.000,00 (€ 228.595,18).
