This artwork by Lewis Baumer achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in January 2006. In the British and Continental Pictures and Watercolours auction, the work 'Do you believe there is a devil, Joan?' sold for GBP 288.00 (€ 422.12) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 150.00. Admittedly, works by Lewis Baumer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tennis Holidays in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,883.75).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Lewis Baumer erzielte im Januar 2006 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British and Continental Pictures and Watercolours wurde die Arbeit 'Do you believe there is a devil, Joan?' für GBP 288,00 (€ 422,12) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 150,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lewis Baumer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Tennis Holidays im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.883,75).
