This artwork by Leslie Saalburg achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2010. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Elegant figures arriving for a reception at the British Embassy, Paris (illustrated); and Cars passing John Lobb, bootmaker's, Paris sold for GBP 2,375.00 (€ 2,754.99) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Leslie Saalburg; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Huntstmen gathering for a winter's morning meet (illustrated); Picnic lunch at a point-to-point; and Rolls Royce on Gold Cup Day, Ascot sold at auction in December 2010 with the realized price of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,769.99).
