The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,800.00 (€ 7,086.31), 60% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Leslie Arthur Wilcox have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Jeannette, Trafalgar 1805 in October last year with an auction result of GBP 40,620.00 (€ 47,321.85).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.800,00 (€ 7.086,31) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Leslie Arthur Wilcox auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Jeannette, Trafalgar 1805 im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 40.620,00 (€ 47.321,85).
