Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Leslie Arthur Wilcox could be acquired at Christies in New York in February 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Maritime auction, the work Misty dawn changed hands for USD 3,600.00 (€ 3,018.87) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leslie Arthur Wilcox achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jeannette, Trafalgar 1805 in October last year with an auction result of GBP 40,620.00 (€ 47,321.85).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Leslie Arthur Wilcox konnte im Februar 2006 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Maritime wechselte die Arbeit Misty dawn für USD 3.600,00 (€ 3.018,87) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Leslie Arthur Wilcox erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Jeannette, Trafalgar 1805 im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 40.620,00 (€ 47.321,85).
