In January 2020 Christies in New York held the auction Outsider Art, which included the work Television Ministry, 1987 by Leroy Almon. The auction ended at the price of USD 1,000.00 (€ 901.47), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 700.00 – 1,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Leroy Almon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Uncle Sam, which sold at auction in February last year for USD 3,500.00 (€ 3,118.32).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Januar 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Outsider Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Television Ministry, 1987 von Leroy Almon zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 1.000,00 (€ 901,47) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 700,00 – 1.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Leroy Almon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Uncle Sam beobachtet, die im Februar letzten Jahres für USD 3.500,00 (€ 3.118,32) versteigert wurde.
