Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Abstraction géométrique by Leopold Plomteux was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in October this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 80.00 – 120.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 76.80. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leopold Plomteux achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sans titre in June this year with an auction result of EUR 960.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Abstraction géométrique von Leopold Plomteux im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 80,00 – 120,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 76,80 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Leopold Plomteux erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sans titre im Juni diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 960,00.
