Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Leopold Carl Müller achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2010. In the 19th Century European Paintings Including Spanish Painting, The Orientalist Sale, and German, Austrian, Scandinavian and Symbolist Works auction, the work German girl In White sold for GBP 32,450.00 (€ 38,777.70) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leopold Carl Müller achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work German An Almée'S Admirers (Egyptische Tänzerin) in October 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,650,500.00 (€ 1,301,450.88).
