Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Woman At A Balcony; A Woman Standing Before A Musical Group by Leonardo Alenza was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 11,680.84). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leonardo Alenza achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pareja de cuadros; El triunfo de Baco firmado en el lado dcho: L.Alenza. fechado en el bastidor: 1844 óleo sobre liezo 38 x 45,5 cm. Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Woman At A Balcony; A Woman Standing Before A Musical Group von Leonardo Alenza im Mai 2012 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 9.375,00 (€ 11.680,84) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Leonardo Alenza erzielen.
