Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Leonaert Bramer could be acquired at Sothebys in London in March 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Quality in Detail. The Juli and Andrew Wieg Collection auction, the work Sara brings Hagar to Abraham changed hands for GBP 1,386.00 (€ 1,628.19) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leonaert Bramer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Circumcision in December 2004 with an auction result of GBP 41,825.00 (€ 59,193.90).
