In April 2009 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art including Orientalist Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work French A Winter'S Day by Léon Joseph Voirin. Here, the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 40,625.00 (€ 30,674.27). With this result, French A Winter'S Day is even the most expensive work of art by Léon Joseph Voirin that we have observed at auctions so far.
