Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Wooded landscape by Léon Germain Pelouse was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2001, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 7,637.50 (€ 8,606.60). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Léon Germain Pelouse - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work French foret De Fontainebleau, which sold at auction in November 2012 for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 21,558.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Wooded landscape von Léon Germain Pelouse im April 2001 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 7.637,50 (€ 8.606,60) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Léon Germain Pelouse mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit French foret De Fontainebleau beobachtet, die im November 2012 für GBP 17.500,00 (€ 21.558,22) versteigert wurde.
