Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A setter chasing a mallard; and A setter with its prize by Leon Danchin was auctioned at Christies in London in February 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 25.00 – 200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 29.88 (€ 44.61) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leon Danchin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Briards in November this year with an auction result of GBP 896.00 (€ 1,038.27).

Die Arbeit A setter chasing a mallard; and A setter with its prize von Leon Danchin kam im Februar 2004 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 25,00 – 200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 29,88 (€ 44,61) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Leon Danchin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Briards im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 896,00 (€ 1.038,27).
