The work Racehorse with jockey up by Léon Bureau was auctioned at Christies in New York in December 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,120.00 (€ 2,634.69) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Racehorse with jockey up is the most expensive artwork by Léon Bureau that we have observed at auctions so far.
