Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The picnic by Leo Putz was sold in the British & European Art auction at Christies in London in July 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 48,799.79) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Leo Putz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work German Hinter Den Kulissen (Behind The Scenes) in June 2009 with an auction result of GBP 361,250.00 (€ 423,914.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The picnic von Leo Putz wurde im Juli 2020 in der Auktion British & European Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 48.799,79) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Leo Putz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit German Hinter Den Kulissen (Behind The Scenes) im Juni 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 361.250,00 (€ 423.914,76).
