Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2012 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings, which included the work Chimera by Jan Leeroy New. It changed hands for a price of HKD 18,750.00 (€ 1,866.61) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Other works by Jan Leeroy New have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in October 2021 the work Jan Leeroy New was auctioned for USD 3,150.00 (€ 2,726.80).
