The work Waning Splendor by Lee Kyoung-mi was sold in the First Open | Hong Kong auction at Christies in Hong Kong in March 2018. The auction ended at the price of HKD 50,000.00 (€ 5,170.45), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lee Kyoung-mi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Standing Astronaut Nana, which sold at auction in March 2017 for HKD 87,500.00 (€ 10,526.50).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Waning Splendor von Lee Kyoung-mi wurde im März 2018 in der Auktion First Open | Hong Kong bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 50.000,00 (€ 5.170,45) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Lee Kyoung-mi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Standing Astronaut Nana beobachtet, die im März 2017 für HKD 87.500,00 (€ 10.526,50) versteigert wurde.
